Service Description

A perfect tester for the less accomplished e biker. The tour starts from our Winster hub and travels for a short distance along a minor road before turning north along a back lane towards the peaceful and remote village of Elton. Lovely quiet roads with amazing views are then followed towards Alport. There are a few hills and dales to negotiate which are made easier by the e bike. The tour then passes to the west of Robin Hood's Stride and a short detour (on foot) could reveal a neolithic stone circle. Far reaching views look out over Harthill Moor and down towards Youlgreave. Before reaching Alport a small lane is joined which will eventually reveal Harthill Hall. A short length of main road then allows access to a minor road for a long and steady climb into Stanton in Peak. Upon reaching the Flying Childers the tour is about ½ way complete and a refreshment stop may be in order. The return journey follows Lees Road around Stanton Moor before climbing a minor road (which is now closed to motor vehicles) into the pretty village of Birchover. If you have time take a slight detour to the Druid Inn and hear about the local Druids or follow the back lane to Winster to return to the Miners Standard. Difficulty - Beginners Green Tour Surface - Minor roads, closed roads & short length of main road Time allocated - 1.5 hours Distance - 10.3 miles Refreshment Stop Options - Winster, Stanton in Peak & Birchover Tour Ref - 02
