Service Description

A shorter 3 hour bike tour from our Ambergate hub which offers a view of both sides of the Derwent Valley, Crich Stand and a visit to the Crich Tramway Village. The route out of Ambergate takes back lanes and minor roads onto Alderwasley Moor before descending into the lovely village itself. It is then cycle routes and bridleways into Cromford where some time can be taken to look around this UNESCO World Heritage Site and birthplace of the modern factory system. Cafes, artisan shops and the visitor centre are all located within the old mill buildings. The canal is then followed until Lea Bridge where it is a walk and push over the Derwent to reach the road. A climb through Holloway offers expansive views before eventually reaching the heights of Crich Stand. Here a small donation to experience the panorama is well worthwhile.
