Service Description

Ideal for those who are reasonably comfortable riding a bike but want to try a short trip to get familiar riding an eBike. Slightly more adventurous starter tour than Tour 5 being a little longer but still generally on quieter moor lanes but with a little gravel too. The route follows a well formed stone and concrete track to the rear of the hub through old Industrial units. It then passes through woodland gravel tracks (the Birches) and out onto Holly Lane. A quiet and picturesque minor road then follows part of the Derwent Valley Heritage Way heading south towards Belper Lane End. The route joins the Old Derby Road at the Bulls Head and then travels for a short distance before reaching Narrow Lane track and out towards the hamlet of Shottle. It is then high up onto Alderwasley Moor passing around Alport Heights before returning along the Old Derby Road past the Bear Inn. A steep old trading route allows a slow downward coast into Ambergate via Holly Lane. There maybe time to visit the whisky distillery before returning back over the River Derwent. Difficulty - Beginners Green Tour Surface - Track and minor roads Distance - 10 miles Time allocated - 1 hour 30 minutes Refreshment Stop Options- Filling Station Cafe @ Great British Car Journey, The Bear Inn Tour Ref - 04
