Public Transport Options

Both our 2 main cycling hubs are assessable by public transport so you can still enjoy one of our tours even if you do not have your own transport whilst in the Peak District

The village of Winster is served by the 172 bus which runs between Matlock & Bakewell with stops at Darley Dale, Youlgreave, Stanton & Birchover. Unfortunately there are no buses on Sunday

You get off the bus at Winster Hall and it is a 5 minute walk up East Bank (by the Market House) to the Miners Standard at Bank Top

The nearest train station is Matlock which is on the Derby & Nottingham line where you can then get the 172 bus to Winster

Buxton train station is about 30 minutes away by taxi if you are travelling from Manchester or we can run custom tours and meet you at the station

Ambergate is better served by public transport than Winster as it is on the main A6 between Matlock and Derby

Trans Peak Buses run every hour from Buxton, Bakewell, Matlock and Derby along the A6 and the Oak Hurst Bus Stop is just 100 metres from the entrance to our site

The nearest train station is Ambergate just 10 minutes walk from our hub at the Great British Car Journey and like Matlock it is on the Derby & Nottingham line

For International customers East Midlands Airport is only a 27 mile (30 minute) taxi ride away or you can take the bus to Derby Staion and jump on a train to Ambergate

Need a Taxi?

The Peak District is not always blessed with the best public transport so you always have the option of getting a taxi or in some cases we can bring the eBikes to you
