Service Description

A full day tour designed for visitors from Manchester who arrive on the train at Buxton Station We will collect you from the station and take you to Poole's Cavern visitor centre where your eBikes and a coffee will be waiting for the start of your Peak District Adventure. This tour is the perfect way to enjoy the highlights of the popular white peak area using a network of cycle paths, quiet country lanes and bridleways incorporating hidden villages, spectacular scenery with the added benefit of being able to enjoy some of Derbyshire’s most famous local produce. Starting from the natural wonder of Poole's Cavern the tour climbs high above Buxton on a well-formed cycle path behind Harper Hill meandering through moorland scenery and country lanes. The trail passes through the stunning 'Dragons Back" limestone reef via bridleways and country lanes to reach Crowdecote and then meandering roads sweep down into the pretty hamlet of Pilsbury astride the banks of the beautiful River Dove which is then followed into Hartington. Here you can visit a family-owned Farm Shop selling locally produced products and then a cheese tasting at the world famous Hartington Cheese Shop. You can also discover Derbyshire Oat Cakes and Bakewell Pudding at the rather grand local village store. Following your culinary experience secluded narrow roads lead out to the Parsley Hay Station part of the old Cromford High Peak Railway which previously linked the east midland textile industry to Manchester. Now a cycle route the Trail is followed to Hurdlow with an opportunity to experience the 'gastro' offerings at the wonderful Royal Oak pub. It is then onwards to Earl Sterndale located in a spectacular hidden Dale to cycle below the Dragon and to then emerge high on the Moorland where 360 degree views await. Buxton can be seen below and your steps are retraced back to Poole's Cavern. Here you may have an opportunity (subject to time) to view the wonders of the limestone caves (extra payment) before we escort you back to the train station.
